The ICTQual CPD Course in Basics of Geriatric Care is an advanced 1-hour online course designed to provide essential skills and knowledge in elderly care. To ensure participants can fully benefit from the course material, the following entry requirements have been established:
- Basic Knowledge in Healthcare
Participants should have a foundational understanding of healthcare principles, including basic anatomy and physiology, patient care, and general medical terminology. This course builds upon existing healthcare knowledge, so a background in healthcare-related fields is essential. - Prior Experience in a Healthcare Setting
Since this is an advanced course, individuals should have at least 6 months of experience working in a healthcare environment. This could include roles such as nursing assistants, caregivers, or other healthcare professionals involved in patient care. Familiarity with patient interactions, particularly with elderly patients, is highly recommended. - Completion of Introductory Geriatric Care Modules
While this course covers advanced topics in geriatric care, participants should have completed at least an introductory course or training on geriatric care or aging populations. If you haven’t taken formal training, equivalent on-the-job experience will be considered. - Language Proficiency
As the course is delivered in English, participants must have a sufficient level of proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English to engage with course materials and participate in discussions. - Interest in Geriatric Care Specialization
This course is designed for healthcare professionals who are either already working in geriatric care or who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in this area. A genuine interest in working with elderly populations and a commitment to improving geriatric care are important motivators for enrolling.
